AGAPE
(ah-GAH-pay) n.
1) love (See Merriam-Webster).
2) LWCC youth group.

The word "agape" refers to sacrificial love, a type of love in which one gives his/her all for the sake of anyone who needs it without regard for any type of reward or repayment. It is unconditional love. It is true love. It is pure love.

Most importantly, agape love is the kind of love that God and Jesus Christ have for all of mankind. John 3:16 tells us that "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that all who believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." Without ever having even met us face to face, God loved us enough to send His Son to die as a sacrifice for all of the wrong we have done in our lives. Jesus decided that His death for our sins would be a sacrifice He would be willing to make. Both of these acts of love were done not for repayment, but for our sake.

This love is at the core of the LWCC youth group. Its concepts and consequences resound throughout the mission statement that guides everything we do. We have one vision: to have
All Generations Accept God, Praise God, and Evangelize for God.

We are AGAPE.

Ever since its humble beginnings 10 years ago, Living Word Christian Church Youth Group has always had one purpose in mind: to love others in the same way that Jesus Christ loves mankind. Although this ministry has been through its share of obstacles, we firmly believe that our purpose will never change for he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Today we are a small group of believers ranging from age 13 to 55 and no matter what our age, ethnicity, or past mistakes, we sincerely believe that Jesus Christ has already died on the cross for the sins of His people and that by His blood, we are all adopted into God's family for now and unto eternity.
